Gemotions

The porch swing creaked rhythmically as she sat, watching the children play in the cul-de-sac. A slight breeze rustled the leaves of the trees, and the distant sound of lawnmowers filled the air. She enjoyed the familiar sights and sounds of the neighborhood.

A quiet voice. It was Mr. O’Malley, holding a trowel. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Baker. I wanted to see if I might be able to plant some zucchini plants in your yard?"

She looked over at him, her expression pleasant. "Of course, Mr. O'Malley," she replied, her voice soft and welcoming. "Where were you thinking?" She smiled, picturing the vibrant green foliage and the promise of summer harvests.
